A medical camp was organized by Yogoda Satsanga Dhyana Kendra, Lucknow on Sunday, May 1, 2016 from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm for the poor people in the neighborhood areas. The information regarding the same was communicated to them through pamphlets and banners as well as announcing about the same in the areas a day before by the devotees. Banners were also put in the target areas.

The check-up and free medicine dispensation

A 11 member team of doctors offered their service for the camp. Specialist services were available for ophthalmolgy, dentistry, ENT, skin, orthopedic, physiotherapy, homeopathy, Gynaecology, blood pressure, sugar examination, ultrasonography. A total of 142 patients were served at the camp. Patients were given medicines free of cost. Those who needed surgery were given conservative treatment and were advised to visit hospitals where these doctors were working - King George’s Medical University, Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital, or Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute. Patients were reassured by the doctors that if there is any need they may visit them in future at these medical centers.

Volunteer contribution

A number of Kendra volunteers assisted in ushering the patients from one table to another. All doctors expressed their desire to serve the poor and needy again in the future.
