On Sunday, 21st Feb 2016 a free Dental check-up and Awareness Camp was organized in collaboration with Saraswati Dental College from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm at Yogoda Satsanga Dhyana Kendra, Lucknow. Almost 500 pamphlets were distributed in advance in nearby slum areas so that maximum number of poor people could take advantage.
A team of 8 doctors from Saraswati Dental College did the check up of 70 people of age groups ranging from 5 to 70 years. There were many patients suffering from dental caries and gingivitis. A mobile van was also provided by the College which had a Dental Chair, needed for performing minor dental procedures. All those who needed special treatment were asked to come to Sarswati Dental College.
There were many patients having stained teeth due to tobacoo and paan chewing. They were made aware of the dangers pertaining to them. Anti-inflammatory medicines and analgesics were given to patients who needed them.
Free tooth brushes and pastes were distributed to children and patients who needed them.
A senior dental surgeon gave Oral Health Talk to children and other patients and made them aware of normal anatomy of teeth, good oral hygiene, proper way of brushing teeth, flossing etc. Dentists took the help of videos and charts.
A good number of devotees were also shown the videos and were made aware of the importance of the oral hygiene. Senior doctors clarified their doubts, and answered their queries.
