A Public Satsanga, presided by Hon'ble Governor Shri Ram Naikji, was organised by the Lucknow Kendra on 8th Sept' 2017 at 'IMRT' Auditorium, Paramahansa Yogananda Marg, Lucknow.
As the dignitaries took their seats on the dais, everybody stood for the National Song- Vande Matram. This was followed by offering bouquets of flowers to the dignitaries on the dais: namely Shri Ram Naik Ji (Hon’ble Governor), Swami Suddhananda Giri, Brahamchari Dhairyananda, Brahamchari Chaitanyananda and Shri A K Mittai ( Chairperson, YSDK, Lucknow).
A beautiful picture of Gurudev kept prominently on the stage, enlivened the hall. The function began with the lighting of the lamp by the dignitaries in front of Gurudeva’s picture. This was accompanied by chanting slokaas by devotees.
Brahamchari Chaitanyanandaji gave a brief power point presentation mentioning all salient features of Yogoda Satsanga Society of India. This was followed by a short meditation of 10 minutes conducted by Brahamchari Dhairyananda in which every one participated.
Swami Suddhananda Giri gave his discourse on “ KRIYA YOGA DWARA ATMA VIKAS AVEM CHINTA MUKTA JEEVAN”. He spoke for 35 minutes and when Hon’ble Governor came on the podium to speak, the first sentence he said was “ I do not know what to say because everything has been so beautifully covered by Swami Ji” Shri Ram Naik Ji appreciated the teachings of Gurudeva as well as the work being carried by the organization, Yogoda Satsanga Society of India. He was given a Shawl, Collector’s edition of Autobiography of a Yogi and a framed photograph of Bhagwan Krishna in lotus posture, as mementoes.
The function ended with a vote of thanks to the dignitaries, audience, press & media, and the people who had helped in making the function a success.
A short announcement regarding forthcoming Sadhana Sangam from 9-11 Sept 2017 was also made. This was followed by National Anthem.
With hearts filled with an overwhelming joy, the audience left after taking Prasad.
The total attendance was approximately 500 and the new lesson registrations were 10.
The following day most of the Hindi and English newspapers gave a wide coverage of the function.
